iPledge Campaign Press Conference

 

Join us for the 2010 iPledge Campaign - Women Against Abuse's social awareness initiative designed to educate the community on the prevalence of domestic violence and motivate the public to make a personal pledge against violence. Check out the Press Release!

The campaign launches with a press conference featuring an exciting line-up of speakers, including Mayor Michael Nutter!

An Evening About Domestic Violence

As part of the iPledge Campaign, Alpha Chi Omega sorority and Women Against Abuse are pleased to welcome speaker William Spratley to the U.Penn campus. Mr. Spratley is the father of a victim of domestic abuse and shares his experience in an effort to raise awareness about abusive relationships. Joining Mr. Spratley will be Ms. Cheryl Brubaker from Women Against Abuse.

Walk to End Domestic Violence


Join Women Against Abuse for the Annual Walk to End Domestic Violence! Sponsored by State Senator LeAnna Washington, this walk raises much needed funds for the Philadelphia Domestic Violence Hotline operated by Women Against Abuse, Congreso, Lutheran Settlement House, and Women In Transition. The hotline is staffed 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.

Registration opens at 9am. Walk starts at 10:30am.

Opening Reception for Children's Art Exhibit

Join Women Against Abuse and Women In Transition for cocktails and the opening reception of an art exhibit featuring:

  • Artwork by the children of the Women Against Abuse Emergency Shelter
  • T-shirts from the Women In Transition Clothesline Project

Hosted by the Philadelphia Foundation.The exhibit will be on display in the Philadelphia Foundation office lobby through April and will be available for viewing anytime during their office hours.
